Click here to view a brief presentation that describes how CASB develops business-ready professionals, outlines how both CASB and CATOs contribute to student development in partnership, and provides an overview of the CASB program itself.
Employers are an essential part of the CASB program's triumvirate of students, CASB, and firms.
The three-year practical experience component of the CASB program, fulfilled while students simultaneously complete the program's series of facilitated online modules, offers students exposure to a range of experience in a variety of companies and industries which presents students with the opportunity to solidify their competencies in all competency categories acquired in the learning process. It also exposes students to the high calibre of standards and ethics required by the CA profession and CAs who put those high standards into practice.
CASB has developed a module schedule that meets the needs of students and firms, taking into consideration firms' traditional busy season and offering students choices which meet their needs and goals. CASB encourages firms to be involved in students' scheduling decisions.
A significant number of CASB students hold non-business undergraduate degrees and many complete their degree studies without taking some or all of CASB's prerequisite courses. These students continue to represent the "best and brightest" students to serve your client needs. Students who have yet to complete all their prerequisites have flexible options to do so. Two programs are available which provide students with choices for flexible delivery options if they are completing CASB prerequisites:
Athabasca University
University of British Columbia Diploma in Accounting Program
All universities in the CASB region provide options for students to complete CASB prerequisites.
Though these students may be restricted in taking CASB modules while completing their prerequisites, they can continue to accrue professional experience in your firm and have that time qualify as a portion of the practical experience requirement of CA students.
