Student Information

A combination of competency-based education, practical experience, and exposure to standards and ethics of the highest calibre ensures CASB students become 'business-ready CAs'.

As a CASB student, you progress through a series of online facilitated modules. Each module consists of online facilitated learning, a three-day face-to-face interactive learning session (FFIS) that builds on skills you need to succeed in the program and in the business world, and an evaluation session. After achieving competency in the six CASB modules, you will be prepared to write the Uniform Evaluation (UFE). [For details on the FFIS for your module, click here.]

In our new generation of CASB, you will be introduced to Vision Windows Limited (Vision). Over its lifetime Vision has grown from a one-man company to one contemplating a listing on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Vision now has subsidiaries in Western Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Throughout its life, many Chartered Accountants have been involved in Vision's affairs, each in different capacities. Some were in public practice while others were not. We want you to experience that involvement! As you progress through the modules, you will be challenged to consider your users' levels of knowledge and their objectives in order to understand your role or perspective. Your role could be that of an employee or manager of Vision, an employee of various Public Practice Firms engaged to complete a wide range of services including assurance, compilation, consulting, taxation, or valuation services for the business and its owners, or an auditor from CRA, to name a few.

While you simultaneously complete three years of paid work experience in a CA Training Office, you develop and apply the knowledge and skills you have gained - research, analysis, problem solving, interpretation, forecasting, leadership, innovation, control and risk management, finance, performance measurement, taxation, information technology, and assurance and are prepared to take on the challenges of today's global, ever-evolving business environment.
