Peter earned a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of Alberta in 1974 and a master of business administration from the University of Western Ontario in 1978. He received his CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia in 1981 and designation as a certified management accountant (CMA) in 1992. In 2005, the Society of Management Accountants of Canada awarded him his designation as Fellow (FCMA), and, in 2009, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia awarded him his designation as Fellow (FCA).

He was a member of the CICA's board of evaluators from 1997 to 2002 during the transition to the competency-based UFE and, as a member of the BOE, played an important role in the development of the competency-based evaluation process. He has also represented British Columbia on the UFE review committee since 2003.

Peter is assistant department chair, financial management department at Langara College and has been teaching at the college since 1994. From 1998 to 2005, he was board chair of the Langara College foundation. Having been active on a number of committees at the college, he is now a member of Langara 's education council.

He is the author of two accounting textbooks and has taught in UBC's diploma in accounting program since 1995.

Peter is married and has two sons. Peter is an avid golfer and plays old-timers hockey in winter. He was a member of the board of the Richmond Minor Hockey Association.

Richard Olfert, FCA has served the CA profession in various capacities at both the provincial and national levels. He served for four years (1994 to 1997) as Manitoba 's representative on the Board of Examiners of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). Most recently, he completed a three year term (2001 to 2003) as chair and past-chair of the CICA's Board of Evaluators, which sets the annual CA exam. During his tenure as chair, he led the profession's nation-wide initiative to introduce competency based evaluation in to the Uniform Evaluation (UFE).

Richard is a graduate of the University of Manitoba (B. Comm (Hons.)). In 1986, he successfully completed the UFE and was awarded the Bronze Medal for Manitoba that year. He received his CA designation and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba in 1988. The FCA designation was awarded to him in 2003.

Richard is the Office Managing Partner in the Winnipeg Office of Deloitte, which is comprised of 200 people serving Manitoba business with quality and integrity. Richard works for a variety of clients in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He serves many organizations as lead audit partner and helps organizations address their business challenges related to growth and governance.

Richard also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Deloitte – Canada , and has chaired its Finance Committee since July 2006.

Currently, he serves as Board member and Treasurer of CentreVenture Development Corporation, the downtown redevelopment initiative of the City of Winnipeg and as a member of the Advisory Board of the Province of Manitoba 's Civil Legal Services Special Operating Agency. He also chairs the Board of Directors of Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute, and is chairing that school's capital fundraising campaign.

Richard and his wife, Bonnie, are kept busy with the activities of their three teenaged children. Together with his sons, he enjoys golfing in the summer and curling in the winter.

Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from British Columbia 's Simon Fraser University in 1975, received his CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of B.C. in 1978, and was awarded an FCA in 2009.

Since becoming a CA, Scott has held several positions on various education committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia, including the School of Chartered Accountancy.

Scott has more than 25 years of experience in public practice including, audit, accounting and business advisory services. His career includes work with privately held companies and partnerships and entrepreneurial businesses. He serves clients in a variety of industries including real estate, retail/wholesale, communications and hospitality.

From 1979 to 1990, Scott was an Audit Partner in the firm Yada, Tompkins, Humphries, Palmer & Co. They merged with Ernst & Young in 1990. He has been the Lead Partner for campus recruiting for 14 of the past 17 years.

In the community, Scott was a Director on the Board of the Vancouver Aquarium, where he has held several positions, including president. He was also a Board Member of Pacific Sport and currently a member of the Finance Committee of the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club; and has held several positions on the Board of the West Vancouver Yacht Club.

Scott enjoys boating, down-hill skiing and is Head Coach for the Senior Girls Basketball Team at Handsworth Secondary, North Vancouver .

Dr. Cynthia Simmons earned her bachelor of arts in Philosophy from the University of St. Thomas in Houston , Texas in 1977. She subsequently, and wisely, switched to the study of accounting earning her Master's in 1987 and completing her PhD in 1989.

Dr. Simmons joined the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary in 1988. She has taught managerial accounting in the Undergraduate, MBA, PhD and Executive Education programs. She has been a visiting professor in New Zealand and has taught with the Haskayne Masters programs in Ecuador , Iran and Peru . Since receiving tenure as an Associate Professor, she has served as the Head of Accounting, the Special Advisor to the Dean on Budgetary Matters, and two separate terms as the Associate Dean Academic – the position she currently holds.

Over the years Cynthia has worked closely with the CA profession, serving as a public member on the Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta for two terms. She was the recipient of the CAEF's teaching excellence award in 1996 and the ICAA's Distinguished Service Award in 2008.

Cynthia is married to Art Schwartz and has one son, a proud CA. She enjoys gardening on her acreage north of Cochrane , AB and walking with her dogs Larcen and Caesar. She recently became a grandmother.

John earned his bachelor of commerce degree (with distinction) from the University of Alberta in 1988. He received is CA designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta in 1991 and he joined the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut in 2002.

John is a partner with over 20 years of experience at KPMG LLP in Edmonton and is currently leader of the Edmonton office Public Sector Audit Group. He is the learning partner for the KPMG Edmonton office and has been part of Audit Learning Leadership team for KPMG since 2002.

John has been involved with numerous learning programs within KPMG for the past 15 years and is excited about the opportunity to contribute to the profession through an active role with CASB.

John is married and is an avid golfer.

George received a bachelor of commerce degree, accounting major from the University of Calgary in 1977. Articling with Young Parkyn McNab LLP commencing in 1977, he was awarded a CA designation in 1980. George has been a partner with the firm since then, becoming managing partner in 1999.

George's contributions to the profession include serving on the ICAA student education committee from 1983 to 1985. He also instructed audit under the previous CA accreditation process and has instructed at the University of Lethbridge .

Active in the community, George recently served as vice-president, finance on the board of the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce and was chair of the 2006 Alberta Target Provincial Junior Curling Championships. He was also a board member and president of the Southern Alberta Art Gallery from 1993 to 1999. George was a director of the 1996 Alberta Winter Games and a board member of the Lethbridge Community Foundation.

An avid fly-fisher, George's other hobbies include game bird hunting and skiing. George is married with two sons, one currently working toward a masters degree in history at the University of Calgary and another working toward a management degree at the University of Lethbridge.

Cathy is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, obtaining her Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction in 1988. She wrote her UFE in 1989, earning the bronze medal for Saskatchewan that year, and received her CA designation and became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan in 1990. Cathy marked the UFE Comprehensive exam for a number of years.

Cathy has been with Deloitte for 22 years in Regina and Saskatoon as well as New Westminster, British Columbia . She leads the Audit and Assurance Services team for Saskatchewan. Cathy is responsible for the Firm's service levels to a number of key clients in the Province including a number of Crown Corporations and public and private corporations as well as non profit organizations.

Cathy is a Past Council Member of ICAS where she was on the Practice Appraisal Committee. She currently serves as an Ad hoc Member of the Professional Conduct Committee. She is also Past President and has served as the Treasurer of the Mackenzie Art Gallery in Regina. Cathy has chaired Deloitte's Women's Leadership Initiative Committee in Regina for several years.

Cathy enjoys time at the lake with her husband and son.
