When writing Module Evaluations and the UFE, you must use a laptop computer to input your responses for calculation and for reference purposes.
You will be required to preload your laptop with software called Securexam (CA). Securexam (CA) is a special "lockdown" software program that disables most of your computer's functionality and file access. It will ensure that, during evaluations, you will only be able to use your computer for the following purposes:
- Reference: you will be able to use a modified version of Folio Views to search the CICA Standards and Guidance Collection (UFE Version) and the Federal Income Tax Collection (UFE Version) (these will be included in the Securexam install);
- Keyed response: you will be able to use a word processor and electronic spreadsheet to input your responses and submit them electronically for marking purposes. Remember: Handwritten or typed planning notes will not be marked.
You will not be able to access any other files or programs.
Securexam (CA) was released to students on April 26, 2010. Here are guides to support you in using this software:
KPMG students DO NOT Download the Securexam(CA) software. You will be notified by your firm when the software is ready.
